Now And Then
Summary
‘Now and Then’ is an illustrated picture book based on ethics surrounding de-extinction.
The book consists of two short stories that span across four pages each. These stories explore Mammoths and their chance to come back to the living world as we know it. It explores reasons why the Mammoth would come back and asks the reader to think about what they believe would be best on the matter. It is suggestive, but doesn’t sway the viewer any certain way. The same can be told for the second story, the Aotearoa Moa.

The Creative Process
I used both digital art and traditional for these pieces, and even experimented with using organic materials such as wood to paint on, sticks and bristles to paint with, watercolour and acrylic. Using traditional media with different mediums inspired my illustrations to really evolve overtime with the use of these new techniques, applying diversity and implementing a unique process.
